Our History
RockSalt is a concept whose roots are in the Jesus People movement of the 1960's and 1970's. Its name is melded from words found in two scriptures, both quoting Jesus Christ: "Upon this rock I will build my church," and "You are the salt of the earth,,," (Matthew 16:18 and 5:13) Initially involved in promoting the music of the Jesus People, it became a ministry and a missionary agency primarily working in the South American country of Bolivia beginning in 1988.
